Plant one tree at a time
Since 2020, we have committed to planting a tree for each adoption of our pixies.
We are convinced that planting trees in the right places has an impact on our planet. Benefits such as rehabilitating land, enhancing forest ecosystems and creating green spaces. New plantings also help reduce water runoff, improve air quality and encourage the creation of green corridors to benefit biodiversity.
In this way, our participation enables the creation of new forests in southern Quebec, which will capture emissions to reduce the impact of climate change.

The carbon footprint is a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) we are responsible for.
Carbon offsets are a credit. Companies and other organizations sell them. They use the money to support projects that reduce or remove GHGs from the atmosphere. They also support projects that prevent GHGs from going into the atmosphere in the first place. These credits are a way to "offset" or counterbalance GHG emissions.
The aim of credits is to help people and organizations balance their emissions. The aim is to become carbon neutral.
There are many different types of projects funded by carbon offset companies. Renewable energy projects, landfill gas recovery, biogas plants and planting. Plants are considered carbon sinks. This is because they remove CO2 from the atmosphere and use it for photosynthesis.
Tree-planting projects sell offsets. Scientists calculate the amount of CO2 that trees should eliminate during their lifetime. Tree-planting projects then sell offsets for this amount of CO2. Efforts to protect endangered existing forests can also count as offsets.

Our pixies are quietly handmade in Mont-Saint-Hilaire. We use crochet - an age-old technique handed down from generation to generation - to give the cotton greater strength. So pixies can last and withstand multiple washings.
We are members of Conseil des Métiers d'Art du Québec, Citoyens de Métiers d'Art, and Culture Montérégie.
Pixie de Forêt designs high-quality, environmentally-friendly products. This means having items that will last longer and thus reduce our consumption.

The idea of manufacturing plush for the most precious people, like ordinary industrial products, then shipping them across the seas to be sold in Quebec when we have all the know-how right here? It seems an absurd idea. It costs 7 to 10 times more than in the East. But we have a cherished plush in our lives, which will be with us for a very long time, even more than a generation.
