Responsible Cotton for our Elves

Dried white cotton flowers with brown branches, on a white background.

We prefer the term "responsible cotton" to "organic cotton," because the latter implies:

  • Sustainable cultivation without pesticides

  • Efficient use of water

  • Protection against soil erosion

  • Traceability and transparency

  • Respect for the health of farmers

  • No microfibers left in the water after washing

Recycled polyester for the interior.

The stuffing for our elves is made of recycled polyester (rPET) , manufactured from recycled plastic bottles, which:

  • Prevents plastic from ending up in the oceans or landfills

  • Uses 59% less energy for its production compared to virgin polyester

  • Reduces dependence on oil

Sometimes, we directly reuse polyester destined for the trash from a neighboring company . We are therefore inspired by the principles of the circular economy and reusing waste from another company as raw material.

“Using recycled polyester reduces our reliance on petroleum as a source of raw materials,” explains the website of outdoor clothing brand Patagonia. Known for making fleece from used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn-out clothing, Patagonia adds, “This reduces waste, extending the lifespan of landfills and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It also helps promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable.”

Our packaging:

Recycled and compostable cardboard boxes

  • Plant-based ink

  • Paper padding rather than plastic

Sometimes we use recycled vinyl for the packaging of our elves, which also serve as display stands.
