Responsible Cotton for our pixies

We prefer the term responsible cotton to organic cotton, because this implies :

  • Sustainable cultivation without pesticides

  • Efficient use of water

  • Protection against soil erosion

  • Traceability and transparency

  • Respect for farmers' health

  • No microfibers left in the water after washing

Recycled polyester for the interior.

Our pixies are padded with recycled polyester (rPET), made from recycled plastic bottles, which :

  • Prevents plastic from ending up in oceans or landfills

  • Uses 59% less energy to produce than virgin polyester

  • Reduces dependence on oil

Sometimes, we reuse polyester that was destined for the garbage can at a neighboring company. So we're inspired by the principles of thecircular economy, reusing waste from another company as a raw material.

"The use of recycled polyester reduces our dependence on oil as a source of raw materials," explains the website of outdoor clothing brand, Patagonia. Known for making fleece from used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste and used clothing. "This reduces rejects, extending the life of landfills and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It also helps promote new recycling streams for polyester garments that are no longer wearable," adds the brand.

Sometimes we use recycled vinyl for our pixies packaging, which also serves as a display stand.
